11.6 miles At crossroads continue straight on, then the road descends and the main trail goes left at the bottom. Turn right on to a minor trail across felled area here. This narrows and turns right after a few yards then climbs a short pitch before descending for 300 yards to a set of switchbacks on your left. Go down here and drop down final steep pitch on to a farm road. Turn right and go approx 150 yards looking out for a narrow singletrack left turn which goes down 10 yards then over a ride-able gap in the collapsed stone wall. This turns immediately right then between trees and up a very short pitch to drop steeply down to a narrow bridge. Cross (yes it is ride-able!) and follow the superb single track down this small valley, over bumps on open grassland and finally on to a double track descent which opens on to a wide forest road.
13.2 miles. Turn right here and follow wide open forest road for 0.6 miles to a right fork up a steeper forest road (sorry!) ride up here for 0.4 miles where you will see a well defined single track descent to the left.
Go down this, over the gap in the wall (ride-able) and drop down on to another forest road. Turn right here and follow the forest road to a steep rocky double track to the left. Soon after this levels out (about 300 yards) look for a single track which drops steeply off the left hand side of the trail.

This is a very steep single track not for beginners, if you're not good at the steep stuff get off and walk!
(See below). Follow this down to a concrete ford, cross here and walk up the no cycling switchback to the main trail (this is part of the climb from the visitor centre) Turn right up the hill here for 200 yards to a left 'u' turn up a single track, look for single track on left 200 yards up here, follow this back to main trail then turn right and bear left along main trail past bridge and back to visitor centre.
