It seems my linkage bearings have finally given up. When checking my bike before a ride I noticed my linkage bearing was broken. under closer inspection it had basically dissolved. all is left is a rusty bolt with shredded bushings.
Where do I find replacement linkage bearings for a 2008 Mongoose Teocali? Thanks Daz

I would suggest BETD for a full set of linkage bearings and bushes. If one has gone that badly I would suggest you replace them all.
If BETD dont stock them then try 'Goose importers. http://www.enduroforkseals.com/id305.html seem to stock them too |

I saw the enduroforkseals earlier today. it says the linkage kits are for 2004-2006 teocali's I don't know if they are compatible. I have the details for hotwheels (Uk mongoose distributers)I will call them tomorrow. I have been looking into it and found these... Mongoose Khyber/Teocali 2008 Bottom Bracket Link Bolt Mongoose Khyber/Teocali/Canaan 2008 Bottom Bracket Link Bearing Mongoose Khyber/Teocali 2008 Bottom Bracket Link Bearing Spacer Those will let me rebuild the linkage. That came up to £31.94 Which includes 2 bolt, 4 bearings, and 4 spacers. I will check the distributers tomorrow to get their quote on a rebuild kit. The main linkage bolts and bearing all look well as are the shock bolts and bearings. The teocali bottom linkage apparently has a history of disintegrating They usually go a lot sooner than the 4 years I have had my bike. So I kinda see myself lucky it didn't happen sooner. -------------------- Team Mongoose Oh yeah!!!

I would still replace them as they may only move a small amount rotationally but you may find that all the grease is gone and they are disintergrating too-had that on my Kona Coiler, thought they were fine till I actually started to strip bike down and found stuff had turned to dust.
A blind bearing puller set may be of use if you can get your hands on one, makes bearing removal so much easier. |

This is just to get me back out on the bike. Although when I checked the main linkage there was no play at all. So I just cleaned them up and re-greased everything for now. Is this what you mean? is similar to the set that I bought although I bought a bigger set that does automotive as well as bike size bearings. Expensive though you will be hard pressed to get a set for below a ton. Those ones you linked to I aint seen before and cany quite understand how they actually work whereas the collett type ones will work even if the inner part of the race disintergrates as you can then use the bigger size on the outer of the race if its wedged/welded itself into the frame as happened on the Coiler main bearings. |
