It is coming to the time when I need to start thinking about changing the gear cables in both mechs as they are starting to get gunked up. I have X0 shifters and can't see any *plug hole* that needs to be pulled out to give access to the nib at the end of the cable. The SRAM manual doesnt seem to be very clear and I am reluctant to take the ldis off because I have visions of springs and other bits going flying in all directions and proving to be a rather costly effort.
Is there anybody out there who has used these and can give me a clear indication of what I need to do to replace the cable quickly and easily? Help much appreciated -------------------- Annoying **former** student type. I design roads these days...

From the manual on the SRAM site:
QUOTE C A B L E C H A N G E » Make sure the shifter is in fully released position (lowest gear position (front shifter) or the highest gear number (rear shifter)). » Detach the cable from the derailleur. » Cut the cable off 6" (15 cm) from the shifter barrel adjuster. Discard the old cable and cable housing. Remove cover. Use pick to remove cable. » Feed the new cable through the cable entry and out of the barrel adjuster. » Replace cover. » Feed the cable through the new cable housing and cable stops. » Attach the cable to the derailleur and adjust indexing per derailleur instructions. -------------------- Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars

I know I've replaced the cable on mine. But, I don't remember it - it must have been easy!!
I'll take a look when I get home tonight - not sure what time that is going to be. Can I recommend Middleburn Cable Oilers? They're fab! Have them on my Stumpy - perfect for flushing the gunk out of the cable inners, with the cable in-situ. If you are about to replace the cable/outer, then now is the time to be fitting them. -------------------- NB: It's unlikely I'll see your reply. So, please PM me if you need a response.
