Hi All
I'm planning a ride tomorrow and thinking about the black route at Glentress. As I'm just getting back into biking and fitness, I'm a bit concerned about the difficulty of the ride. I've done Innerleithen several times now and am OK with it. My question is, how big a step up is Glentress? Is the extra 10km likely to cripple an intermediate level rider? |

Im sure you would be fine on the black, its an excellent trail or you could do 2 laps of the red.

Glentress had much better flow and continuity to it and if anything, I didn't really notice the climbs being all that steep, certainly none demanding pushing. Anyway, variety is the spice of life. Live a little and ride something new.

If you can cope with the climb to the top of Minch moor at Innerleithen then you'll find black route at Glentress no problem at all, they're both biking heaven so enjoy!

Thanks for the advice all. I road GT yesterday and am still grinning!!
I guess I'm not all that confident of my abilities- especially as I was riding alone. In the end, it was easier than I expected. I actually thought it was quite a bit less technical than Innerleithen. Perhaps its reputation has been built up out of proportion. Anyway, 3h30min including breaks and fooling around on Ewok Village. I'm well chuffed. :agree: |
