Had a cracking ride at Clymax trails yesterday I'm servicing my bike with a new Hope head-set & Saint bottom bracket, only I come to remove the bars and behold, I can see all the internal gubbins of my front mech shifter!
Now then, this can't be right or good so all I need is the cover for an X9 (3 speed) 2010 trigger shifter. Having trawled t'interweb for a while I have failed to find anywhere that can supply a Left hand (ie. front) . Is anyone able to advise me on where to get one along with the retainer or have one they might want to shift from under-foot? Cheers, Rod -------------------- Every Silver Lining Has a Cloud!

with past experience, it would be cheaper and easier to ditch sram and switch to shimano, sorry couldn't come up with a more helpfull answer!
I will be selling sram x7 shifters soon when i get shimano stuff to replace but front is 2x10. |

I've found a part number for a cap - 11.7015.027.000 so they do exist as a stand-alone item... just need to find one now... anyone want to suggest a retailer?

Mtb Dog...
You are SO right it scares me... I was unfortunate enough to lose a SRAM X9 left trigger shifter cover (part number - 11.7015.027.000 from SRAMs own site) Going throught the nice chaps at Alf Jones who then get hold of Fishers Outdoors (SRAM import agent) to be told the part doesn't exist as a spare and they only stock 2011 parts onwards for spares! FFS what's the world 'coming to when you invest a not inconciderable amount of cash on parts that are redundant if a smaller part fails!!!! Whjat happens if I choose to buy £1000+ fork and choose Sram?... Two years down the line "sorry mate Sram don't carry spares for consumers within the UK, Do you want too buy another full forks set? Erm... NO I F........ -- Bloody more bouncing the more I type, so I best stop!!! SRAM - BELT the **** up!!!!! R Oh nice hols in the Forest Of Dean incidently -------------------- Every Silver Lining Has a Cloud!

Rod - not exactly the cap but there are some SRAM shifters going s/h on ebay
Interesting what mtbdog said since the last MTB I bought came with Shimano bits on and the first thing I did was swap to SRAM - I just prefer the action of the SRAM shifters. -------------------- Dr Bike takes no responsibility for damaged limbs or failed relationships as the result of his advice.

yeah... watching a few. Cheers mate I also prefer the action of SRAM but running 'em without a cover the action won't be there for long... it'll be mostly all over the trail LOL -------------------- Every Silver Lining Has a Cloud!
