Ken, i am so tired and no we did not do much of tunnel hill. I don't know what that area is to be honest, it might be porridge pot but not sure.

I hope you are ok and the bike and camera are not too damaged. You were still smiling which is good. Perhaps you should stop playing tongue.gif

Apologies I didn't make it, but yesterday was first proper-ish ride for me and a bit knackered in the end. Wasn't up for two days in a row and then got up late anyway.

A shame as I would have liked to come along, but then I fear I'd only have been up for a gentle ride.

As for Tunnel Hill itself, it's still much of a mystery to me. I know a fair number of bits though I still get lost easily. I do keep finding little new bits all over.

The best bits, I don't know for sure, but one bit used to be the mini north-shore-ish / seesaw but that's all been taken down. The other bit I like is the strip between railway and the road to the south, which has a number of gravelly chutes, and I had found a section of steep rolls, drops and bit of singletrack with various jumps around there.

Not that I should be doing anything like that at the moment and I'm far more suited to regular trails than gnarly adventurous things.

Anyway, hope you're doing another one as I'd like to join you.

Ken, we did a bit of Tunnel Hill but it was mainly Frith Hill. Did you speed this video up? This above clip with the steep drop off was most difficult for me. Perhaps we can do it next time. You can go first Ken!

So where is Frith Hill or is this information only diverged on a secret squirrel/needs to know basis? smile.gif

Ah well... naughty.gif

biggrin.gif

Basically just hop over the canal from Tunnel Hill and it's left of Porridgepot, over the other side of Deepcut Bridge Road. The one we did some time back linked Frith, Porridgepot and a bit of Tunnel Hill together and was a good ride.

Have yet to explore into Ash Ranges, but the flag is always up when I go past anyway so can't go in. There are some bits around the edges which may be outside the flag zone though that look worth exploring some day. Also my guide book says there's a DH & Dirt Jump bit down by Normandy Hill.

DrBike,

Its the same bit we did with the other Andy a couple of years back - if my memory serves me correctly. We got to the canal and then turned back. We did not cross that awesome viewing point though..

It's basically the area South of Old Bisley Road and West of Deepcut Bridge Road, with Frith Hill Road running through the middle of it. It's the only place I normally get to ride due to family & work commitments :-( but I normally get there once a week.

Gorricke run a couple of races there each year creating some nice single track. It also drains very well so is great through the winter, and not as sandy and dusty as Swinley in the dry.

I've got some track logs at Frith Hill

I recognise most of the first video up to the half way point but it would be great to see the track log Ken to see what I am missing.

I normally do an hour on either Friday evenings or Saturday/Sunday mornings if anyone wants to meet up.

BigGrin, if you fancy joining us on Sunday you would be most welcome. You probably know bits that we have not ridden. All i can say is that when rode last weekend it was perfect. We did about two hours riding averaging approx 9 mph. Really smooth trails and not many cyclist to be seen. It was awesome although very hard work.

Afraid I'm busy next couple of weekends but I'll let you know as soon as I get my life back. Looking at the videos it looks like you've done all the bits I know plus more, so you'll be showing me around :-)

It's a great little place. I used to go to the school near it, so have been going there for 26 years.
