Just put up some new stuff.

1) The rides list menu (was 'My rides') has now become 'New Rides and shows the numbers of riders attending as well as the stuff it did before.

2) A new menu called 'Old Rides' shows completed rides in much the same way. The big extra here is that it can show ride photos if the owner of an image 'tags' it to that ride. This means that if a bunch of riders all take photos on a ride and all upload them to their own individual albums, then we now have a means of viewing them all in one handy location.

3) Image tagger. If you have an album, then you can now go to an individual image to see a new device to tag the image to a ride. Just pick the ride and click the Tag button. You can also untag an image any time you like. Note that tagging or untagging does not affect your image in any way at all other than linking it to a ride.

Hopefully some of you will try it, and report back any bugs ASAP.

Great feature Bob, I was going to ask whether it would be possible to do something the gallery as it was getting rather hard to find old pictures but forum gods have read my mind.

Good work Bob

Hey just had a thought (Watch out) how hard would it be to add member tagger to the photos facebook style?
Tell me to shut up if you want to.

Lol, it's always good to get suggestions, but as an old pharty type who doesn't do facebook, bebo and the rest of it, I don't really get what you mean? How would this work exactly?

There's a whole load of stuff we could do - e.g. there's an IM bolt-on available for those who need even more real-time contact. If enough people want a feature I'm sure Gareth will OK it. My biggest problem is finding time to do it. It's not just a case of throwing in a little HTML - this thing is a beast and it takes some serious detective work to get your head around how it all hangs together.

Thought your kids would use it. On Facebook its basicall y a lazy way of tagging lots of people in a picture instead of writing:
from left to right: bob, al, andy and marc.

You just get a little box and click it over a picture of someone and then tag them, then when you pass your cursor over the picture it displays the names under a the person in the photo. Facebook then links them all together in your profile and you get a picture count ie: 21 pictures of Orange Al + 10 pictures of Orange Al added by other members.

The first bit would be good for other people viewing group photo's maybe.

Now that is a good idea, How ever as a webdesigner myself, that would be extremely difficult to do.

I'll post some pics of the process tomorow so you get a better idea.

Good work with the rides list, will this effect the RSS feads?

Jimmy

Right, I've been in and tagged all the images of Forum rides I've taken pictures on so that they show in the 'Old Rides' list.

Can everyone else do this then we'll be able to look up pictures from everywhere we've been! stupidlyhappy.gif

Got my daughter to show me her facebook so I now get what you mean Al (pics no longer required, thanks James). It would be a ton of work to do, not just in the tagging but also in the permission/notification/verification with the tagged person. TBH, it's a lot easier to just use the image title for this kind of thing! If we were getting a ton of requests for it, then fair enough. But actually hardly anyone ever asks for new features of any sort.
