Hi all,

A friend and myself have had meetings with our local council about holding an event in our local woods, which is going well but we need to cut new trails through the woods to by pass or run along side public footpaths already there. Not done this before are there trail building companies out there or can anyone give some advice please?.

The course is a good 2.8miles loop which has good downs and up and made up of singletrack and bridleway, but the best down is a footpath which they wont let us us (damit!)..........

Help..... rolleyes.gif

Thanks

I clearly have no idea about this - for legal reasons, I have to put that first.

If it were me, I'd be looking into hooking up on a trailbuilders course, or the like (rather than out-source it to trailbuilding outfit). Get the knowledge/experience, then take it back to your own course.

That way, you'd then have the skills to design/build/etc all on your own. Which would help in the long-term with maintenance/etc. And, at the end of it all, you'd look back and know it was all your doing.

I applaud you for wanting to do this. It concerns me that all I do is ride other's trails//facilities. clap.gif

NB: It's unlikely I'll see your reply. So, please PM me if you need a response.

Hey thanks for the input, I will look into a trailbuilding course and take it from there...
