(plus bonus Cli-Machx night ride)

Saturday 23rd January. Meet at the car park at 10:00 for a 10:30 start. Read the route guide for more info http://www.mtbbritain.co.uk/pink_heifer_new_route.html. Not sure if the described route is exactly what we'll be doing as the last time we did it it was 18 miles, with 1200 metres of climbing.

For the super keen (and those with lights) we're thinking of doing the Cli-machx route as a night ride afterwards. Depending on time we'll either do the standard 9 mile route as described at http://www.dyfimountainbiking.org.uk/climachx.html, or if time allows we'll do the longer 14 mile cli-machx harder route: http://www.flattyresmtbroutes.com/ClimachxHarder.html

The pace will be pretty quick to ensure we get it all in, and the conditions will probably be very wet and soggy under foot, if not icy and snowy.

If you dont have lights or dont fancy the second route still come along for the Pink Heifer - its a great route!

Cheers Tony, I know exactly where Ady means now. Let me put a HT together and I'll show you round all the new stuff I've found. It's a descent that drops south off Penrhos but it isnt on an OS map so is a little tricky to find if you don't know exactly where to look.

Yep, I wouldn't pretend to recall any of that route (except the sphincter-tightening plunge pool descent), but I do remember a certain amount of uncertainty and searching in the bushes at the side of the main trail to find that stepped descent; it was well hidden!
