Hi

Having been out of cycling since I was 13 or so Im now 23 and decided to start again. My question to you is are there any bike rides starting in Huddersfield? I reckon to have checked the websites online and cant find any. I'm wanting beginners routes to start with with quick progression as I am aiming to enter a 60 mile charity bike ride in July.

If any of you have any suggestions that would be great smile.gif

Many thanks

Dan

Dunno about starting in Huddersfield but you are just north of the Peak national park which has some of the best riding there is....

i ride near to there, mainly in the pennine between huddersfield and manchester, holmfirth way is about as close as i get though to huddersfield

buy the maps ol21 south pennines, and ol1 peak district and they will give you LOADS of stuff to do within an hour of huddersfield, and undoubtedly as already mentioned, the best stuff is right below you in the peak district smile.gif

http://www.adventure-northumberland.co.uk/...duct&p=5453
(the text in the link is a bit misleading) which is a brilliant guide to follow,it includes rides around digly and holmfirth including holme moss(ouch)

I am from Huddersfield, but currently wintering in Canada.

I have loads of trails and routes you can do and when i am back in April for a short time, you are more than welcome to come out with me for a few rides.

Email me if you wish as i aint on the website much whilst in Canada... Far too much time is being spent ski-ing!!! :-)
