I bought one from that company the other week!! The price was so low, and they had them in-stock (when all others said 'coming soon'), that I was sceptical. But, I emailed them. I spoke with them. They delivered.
I don't feel I've ridden it enough yet to post a proper review. But, I'll say this: it's all I was after in a dropper 'post, and more. -------------------- NB: It's unlikely I'll see your reply. So, please PM me if you need a response.

Got chatting to a chap and his son at the top of lower cliff who had a Reverb on his Yeti 575. He was good enough to let me have a quick trial and gotta say very nice. The KS i900r is fetching about £180-200, if the Reverbs drops another £20 it's a no brainer. |

Excuse my ignorance but what is the MMX mount?
I've been looking at ebay USA for a cheaper price, but at that price there's not enough difference to take the risk of getting walloped with import duties and warranty issues. -------------------- There do appear to be some hills south of the Trent...

MMX mount lets you bolt lever to SRAM/Avid shifter/brakes if you have an all the same company setup I believe?

I'd be interested to know how you get on with it Jes as I use both the Joplin 3 and GD and whilst I wouldn't be without either, I can honestly say that I don't think either are easy to use and maintain on a regular basis

I have one waiting for me at home (along with new frame and lots of other nice stuff!).
I already have a KS i750 (now moved to hardtail) so will be interesting to see how it compares? -------------------- Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars

Will update when I get a few rides in lucien
Presently running a KS i900 (non remote) which I got slightly used, off a well know auction site about 12 months ago. And its's been pretty reliable, ridden for a year, including a week in Saalbach/Leogang and not had to touch it (may have ran some oil around the seal once in that time) However I suspect unless there are any long term inherit design or manufacturing flaws the Reverb will be a real step change improvement over the KS. The only thing I would prefer is an option to drop the remote under neath the bars to stop it getting damaged in an off (I have a single swist shifter so changer pods getting in the way are not an issue) MP - New bike & bike stuff whoop whoop |

MP - New bike & bike stuff whoop whoop Oh yeah Started the build last night and the Reverb post certainly seems to be a solid bit of kit. Absolutley no play and a smooth action out of the box. Not in a state to be sat on and ridden yet though.... -------------------- Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars

Right I pushed the button. Bought one of remaining two posts in stock. Had to buy the MMX as only one in stock (no extra cost and comes with standard mount). Also had to buy the 420mm as 380 mm not available. I think it'll fit ok (after research online and comparisons with my KS i900). Very good price and very little stock elsewhere, and as my old 2.5 yr old KS900 is very poorly I thought it was time to give the reverb a go. After reading various posts I think the remote will be mounted under the bars, on the left, as I do like to crash.

Well my new bike was built with mine (380 version) in time for two days's of damp Welsh trail centres this weekend
Initial impressions: Action wise - the button and up down stuff is much better than my KS There is a very slight amount of play now it has been used which wasn't there out of the box. Bit dissapointing that - it's not noticable when riding but I though Rockshox would be the one to solve this issue that happens with all posts? -------------------- Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars

I'm not sure it needs solving, I do like my post to stay 'locked' in position when I pick the bike up by the saddle but a really small amount of play, ot noticed whrn riding is not an issue for me. I have seen posts with huge rotational slop which is a no-no of course. -------------------- Get proper instruction www.mountainbikeinstruction.co.uk

I have seen posts with huge rotational slop which is a no-no of course. Doesn't "need" solving but for the expense involved in these posts I would like it to be! It isn't bad like a Joplin - which are just awful. The Reverb does stay down when you lift by the saddle unlike the KS though. -------------------- Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars

Well finally fitted the Reverb and got a ride in.
Fitting was a no brainer, even managed to thread the remote switch through the tightly spacde rocker linkage, once clamp was undone. Clamp come with a titanium bolt - nice I have fitted the switch under the bars on the left hand side, fits perfectly between the Rohloff shifter and the brake clamp

Number of downloads: 13Comes with zip ties and a guide for the cable, to stop it rubbing against the seat clamp, frame or post.
CIMG0002.JPG ( 4.37mb )
Number of downloads: 9Things to note (also highlighted on some of the reveiws on the post) Don't over tighten the clamp, can restrict the post return to full length. The cables a bit long, but having short legs I am running it slammed (same as the KS) probably perfect on a large frame with a long legged rider. Apparantly easy to cut down, but will look doing that at a later date. After initial ride I can say it's faultless, love the addition of the remote over the KS although it took a few attempts before I stopped grabbing for the lever under the saddle With remote I found I was tweeking the saddle height more frequently to adapt to the technical single track found in the Wyre Forest. Remote lever position was spot on and found it very easy to locate and accuate, a little like a pod gear lever. THe post action was spot on, although not really played with the return speed much, but set reasonable fast. Overall very pleased, will wait and see if it keeps the level of peformance after a few months of abuse. |
