I suppose it had to happen but I've just experienced my first taste of ageism.
Me and Mrs M took our 2 year old grandaughter to "Tick Tock" (a music based activity for toddlers in Harpenden) on Monday. Format is that everyone sits around in a circle on the floor with their children and sings etc, we've done this before on a couple of occassions. On Monday one of the people running it came up to me and Mrs M as we were sitting down on the carpet and asked if we'd like chairs to sit on!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FFS do I look so old and decrepid? He clearly didn't mean to offend, but didn't make the offer to anyone else (and we declined) but it really made me Thought I just share that with you, insulting comments expected -------------------- |

"Thankyou for your kind offer but we are OK. Do you fancy a bike ride up Snowdon sometime?"

Hmmm, I'm not certain that this is ageism? Some would call the offer thoughtful... Of course, I could be wrong, did they shout in your ear really loudly and call you Grandad?

did they shout in your ear really loudly and call you Grandad? Pardon? It was the fact that he only offered us the chairs, maybe he thought we were special (needs) or something -------------------- |
