I've done the 50k winter ride for the last three years but never done this summer one. Can't be too much difference so why not! See you there.

I'm up for this, Emma quite fancies it, if so will go for 50k. If she opts out will try 80k. Will have to squeeze a couple of longer rides in. Rode 40k at week end and still felt pretty fresh. Not sure if I could do double the distance though. I don't think I'm quite as fit as you guys !

Yup, I'm in Kerr. Bit early in the season for hitting the old legs with 80K but what the hell. I need to kick-start my riding this year after a lazy fat pig winter with very little riding done. I'm on a big weight losing & gym fitness streak right now so this ride will be a good reality check on my progress. Bring it on!

As always I'll pay on the day. In for the 80km.

Will be representing the Trolls in green if the pink hasn't arrived by then.

Are we gonna ride as a forum?

I'm aiming to get there as registration opens around 08:30 for the earliest start I can get. That's because all you lot will be a ton faster than me and will do it in half the time :-)

Not sure if I'm up to group ride fitness anyway, so I will probably aim to go solo unless anyone else wants a slow & steady one. For me, it's all about trying to enjoy it rather than half killing myself to get a decent time. I know I'm good for the distance, just not at great speed.

Im aiming for 8:30 as well.

If there is others leaving at the same time I'm more than happy to ride at the slowest pace. I have had too many grueling long rides in cold, rain and mud recently that I just wanted to be over and hence caned myself. I really want to take it more easy and enjoy this ride.

Forecast seems to be improving, The little rain we were going to get seems to be pushing back to the evening.
Fingers crossed this becomes sunshine.

From what I understand Ben , you can do the 50k then have a choice to continue another 30k or not depending on how your feeling at that point.

I never know how I'm feeling until I'm actually riding on the day , so I like the option of a 50k bail out - that's only 30 something miles , so no biggy !

Colin & myself will be starting at 10 , so possibly bump into some of you during the day . Good luck !

That was tough!
Some epic climbs and ace single track.

Saw alot of people bail at 50k. Some of the tree sections were really tough in the mud.

Was definatly the toughest ride ive ever done.

3600 cals burned over 80k.... i deserve this beer! beer.gif
