Just in case you missed the discussion in another thread I am thinking of getting some car stickers made up (if enough interest).
My preference is simple transparent lettering for the rear car window. www.mtbbritain.com in an appropriate font... Something similar to this:
A bit smaller and subtler but would look nice in the rear window. If someone suggests the font I will look into getting the stickers made up... Sign up here if you are interested and I will look into prices. -------------------- |

QUOTE(Freester) QUOTE(Orange Al) How about a logo or graphic next to the web addr
![]() I like the idea Al. Does it have to be you? Oh yeah! Now you say it it's obviously Al. If it were my choice, something like the effect Al has done but with the picture Ben (?) took of Paul doing that rather large drop in Scotchland is my all time fave photo. I think the sticker should not have the 'www' part, as that's kinda redundant and takes up space, and should be in the same font that Simo used on the jersey. The name escapes me but is in the 'Winning Jersey comp' thread. |

I hear what you are saying but typing mtbbritain.com into the browser takes you to the forum and www.mtbbritain.com takes you to the main website.
I don't mind which - will go with the flow. -------------------- |

But I think it should be mtbbritain.co.uk because I think the forum is moving to that address at some point.
This is the picture I was thinking of:

OK.
1) Someone confirm the web address we need. 2) Someone (Al?) do the affect on the Paul photo. Then see which looks best. 3) Font is BankGothic Lt BT. Then I'll get in touch with the sticker people. -------------------- |

Thats why I did me cause i only had to ok with myself I think maybe there is a better picture of Paul doing a drop off at chicksands.
Just to add the effect was done by zooming in on Paint and basically blacking out all the rider and whitening out the background, if anyone does know of a program that does do somthing like this but automatically please tell me as it took quite a while. On another point got no problems not using my picture but I think the silloette needs to be a bit more side on than Ben's if he has another one which is and is happy for it to be used then thats great too. Also just trying to get a picture that is not obviously DH or XC as we dont want to sterotype the site IMO this is a truely all disapline site Hmmm thers a thought a XC rider silloette at the start and DH one at the end? -------------------- |

Paint Shop Pro traces around the background and then deletes it. Adobe illustrator also traces around images to create silhouettes |

OK,
Ben (aka BRF) has kindly given us permission to use his image. The normal Flickr license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.0/) basically says we are free to distribute and modify the image as long as the author is attributed and it is not for commercial purposes. Attributing the author on the sticker is a little impractical and so Ben is happy that if / when we start selling the stickers on the website we just attribute Ben where we mention the stickers. I do not intend to make any profit from the stickers (should I inadvertently make a few pennys due to rounding up costs etc I will donate this to charity). I do not believe this website will make any profit from the stickers either. All of this assumes the image turns into a half decent silhouette anyway! So if someone fancies having a go at turning the picture of Paul into a silhouette... -------------------- |

I don't know if any of these are anywhere near what you'd like...
They're not the best as I only spent a few minutes on them - I'm a bit busy at the moment! |

Outstanding. We need 2 tone that's for sure. The lettering / silhouette will actually be white.
Thanks again to Ben (BRF) for letting us use this image. So what I am thinking is <Paul Image> mtbbritain.co.uk <Al Image> Font as on the T-Shirt. Any objections? -------------------- |
