Would like to think traffic would not be too bad as lots of people off on holiday etc, sure we could hang on for a bit if need be!

I went for a spin around Swinley last night for the first time in months, geeze it is slippery as hell on the hardpack and boggy as you like on the trails!! - Still fun though - realised how much I have missed MTB-ing this year!

Nice to see that some of the trails have received a bit of love and attention since I was last over, still very cut up though.....

As a matter of interest what tyre combo's are you chaps running at the moment? I went out with a pair of Conti Mountain Kings and soon regretted it on the hardpack! They are surefooted in the dry and wet forest trails, but slippery as a slippery thing on the stickler, tank traps and Seagull...................

I tried, but I like riding it fast and was all over the blinkin place!!! I keep hearing great stuff about Maxxis High Roller/Ardent combos and wondered if anyone was riding them????

As for riding the bike, I am up to 3,750 miles so far this year!

hand.gif But I have to admit 3/4 of them have been on a road bike icon_redface.gif

Blimey was that wet!

Hope your brakes are ok Gaz.

Going to try and get over as much as possible this week in the evening to ramp up again for the Trail break event in oxon on the 18th. Website

Let me know if anyone goes over.

Prob going to do Winchester to Queen Elisabeth country park Saturday morning round trip about 46 miles And add a few loops of QECP tracks. If anyone is interested. Not hard riding (honest its really easy!!)

Weather saturday looks glourious!

Also asking. Was thinking of an epic Surrey Hills but given how hot it will be with a lot of climbing and QECP's main trail of interest is in the shade then maybe that. Though didn't find it lasted that long (and it's 2/3rds climbing), but last time I did it was a quick spin on the new launch weekend just to check it out. Not really interested in going there from Winchester though!

Hit swinley tonight, it was great. Dry, fast and just one of those rides that everything comes together on.

Passed someone i know from the forum on an orange cotic. Sorry i did not say hello as i was with a group of mates and did not want to slow them up and to be honest I only would have said "hey i know you from MTB Britian" which is not very welcoming.

Will be out this weekend for sure if it stays dry.

Heavy showers and a weather warning for thunder, heavy downpours and flooding banghead.gif

Shame as yes the trails have been running great even over Surrey Hills.

Sunday looks to be the okay day. Monday more rain.

Count down to the parking charges. 'From September', but I understand may be a week or two yet.

Thinking on doing Swinley tomorrow if anyone's up for it? Although, never been before so completely alien to the area, if any one fancies taking me on a guide of the best bits ;-)

Jamie - what time are you thinking of? I'm happy to lead you around although it depend on getting a pass from the wife and I probably won't be able to get there until after midday.
