I'm planning to be a very good boy this weekend and keep SWMBO particularly happy as I want to ride on 1st June at Swinley - I'll post more details here but imagine that it will be a morning ride.

Not sure about this one because with the Surrey Hills Ride and Bob's Butser hill ride, I might be pushing my luck with her indoors. I'll investigate further.....

Trust you to jump to a smutty conclusion, although we have been talking about going for a 2nd child (but not just yet).

However what I was trying to say was that I will be endeavouring to take care of a number of domestic activities, making the garden spick and span and perhaps even venturing to tidy the garage too.

Ironically I just got informed that SWMBO is in a very good mood and I can go cycling on Monday - now what to do? think.gif icon_question.gif

Got my weeks mixed up doh.gif

I'm looking for some riding action from 31st May to 7th June, and Swinley Forest still looks cool for a visit...hope there's something on and you guys don't mind me tagging along?

You would be more than welcome along, it's just got a bit jumbled up about who's riding when....Best thing is to keep eye on the thread and hope for the best!

You could try the "No that's alright dear I would like to do some jobs around the house and spend time with the family" - then use it to gain double riding points next week!

OK chaps - am now in the area and looking out for any rides....

Any action planned?

Thinking of heading to QE Country Park at some point in the week as well, assuming it's worth a trip.

Cheers

Hi Stu - not sure where everybody has disappeared off to at the moment, but unfortunately not looking like any Swinley Forum Ride this coming weekend, but still recommend you head that way if you can. Guys, anybody heading up there?

If you head to QECP I would recommend just using it as a starter to get onto the South Downs.....

Only chance will be Saturday so will keep an eye on the weather as a downpour is currently on the cards.....

Went on Monday to check it out - would agree with your assessment! Didn't have a lot of time, but the signpost to the South Downs Way just as you complete the orange route was very tempting. However, my little girl loved the wooden playground...

Thanks for the PM Marc - if I'm going to get a chance to go on Sat I'll email you. Otherwise I'll be heading back to the rocky north (this chalk/clay mud is bonkers!)

Cheers

Anyone up for a Swinley ride next Saturday (14th)? Most likely an early departure from the Lookout.

Pretty much the same for me... (Plus with a ride on Thursday evening and all those very close contour lines on Bob's ride i'd probably be dead by Monday!)

I'm going to be making lots of impromptu trips to Swinley now that I'm spending increasingly large times at home - that is, if I can find it. I just spent two and a half hours trying to get to Swinley (about an hour and half of which was spent riding just round the corner but missing the cycle route all the time banghead.gif ). Then, having finally found it by following some random MTBers who looked like they knew where they were going, I spent a further hour and a half trying to find my way back home! Gah! hairout.gif Yes, I got lost again. I'll pop out again tomorrow if I get a chance and see if I can remember how to do that last bit... The signposting on the cycle routes is abysmal and my map (courtesy of Bracknell Forest Council is less than great). doh.gif

So if we don't hear from you for a while, it may be either you've got lost on your way to Swinley or maybe you found Swinley but got lost on the singletrack?!? laugh.gif

The ride on Saturday has been added to the calendar, don't forget to sign up if you plan to ride.
