Forgot to check here. Our lot were out same day but started earlier. May have passed each other somewhere.

Conditions pretty good. Dry in a lot of places, odd few puddles and damp bits but nothing much. Shows still how unsaturated the ground is as previous years it could get saturated and stay a bog for months.

I'd guess as corkscrew but even after a few years of Swinley I still never know where I am! biggrin.gif

Looks like it too though don't quite recognise that corner. Maybe just odd when not riding it.

QUOTE(Bent Wheel @ May 12 2012, 11:46 AM) *
Stickler is closed for maintenance at the momentum, all 3 segments (through Sunday as well if I read the sign correctly), not sure if any if the other single tracks are closed at the moment.

Was open Sunday just with a sign up saying not to ride it when it's wet or raining. Was actually dry, even the new bit (does that make it New New New Stickler? wink.gif ). Nice that it now forces people to go the direction I feel is sensible, or at least do the whole lot in one or the other direction rather than some doing half one way, half the other.

Still pedals like crap though.

Good ride guys was nice to catch up, not to sure about my leading skills, I normally just ride anything that takes my fancy with no planning!

@ dead kenny. We were having the same discussion about how dry Swinley was, there were only a few minor boggy parts although I don't really fancy anymore rain!

I was over sunday at about 4 pm for a lazy ride with a guy from work. hoped i could bump into you guys, but didnt see you all.
It was pretty good conditions considering.

Went back yesterday after the rain stopped and it was pretty damp, but still rideable. I think the plant/trees are doing there stuff to suck up the worst of it.

Anyone up for the HOT MOUNTAIN BIKE CHALLENGE Vernham Dean on sunday?
50 miles marked trail.

Got some nice new Mavic Rush shoes on Saturday, was planning on getting them dirty after work on Monday but have screwed my back up, can't walk at the moment let alone bounce around over Swinners!

Hope that it may settle down again soon, and would not mind following the Gorrick 100 route once I can get my leg over a saddle - does anyone have a GPX trace of the route??
