Quick run down the Red Route at Nealey Nab, Lancs. The fun was cut short when Chef Shoes' Pedal practically fell off and my rear gear cable snapped banghead.gif
Was very cold, but good to see the weather and conditions slowly getting better!!

Already done my friend... Now on the side of the headtube so the only thing obstructing the view is a tiny bit of brake hose in the bottom corner. Tried to reposition but dont want to kink the thing biggrin.gif
So hopefully some better vids soon! ph34r.gif

Great vid, makes you realise how effect forks are agree.gif

I like it with the fork in shot, shows you them doing their thing! That said, either that's a pretty smooth trail or you've got them too firm as I would expect a little more movement from them

It is a pretty smooth trail, but I have been considering the soft or x-soft springs as I'm quite a light and it looks like a simpl-ish job to swap them. They are set at their softest at the moment but it has a factory fitted medium (160-180lbs). They list x-soft as being <140lbs and soft as 140-160lbs. I bounce between about 140-150lbs, would x-soft be viable without risking bottomming them? Anyone changed springs before? Is it simple if careful?

Sounds like soft is the one for you, changing springs is easy, plenty of online guides for uturn forks.

Well after going to buy some scales to get my exact weight, it would appear I wieghed a little less than I thought (146lbs). So I initially went with RS guidelines and set out looking for a soft spring assembly. This proved difficult, and after phoning around and not getting anywhere, I thought i'd take a punt on the x-soft (<140lbs) as these are in stock in a lot more places. Anyway, it arrived today and OMG it was easy to change!! I put the bike vertically so no oil came out and the new one was in and working within 20mins! Took the bike for a quick spin and it feels a lot sweeter. Although I now have to tweek the settings properly, as before they where just set to the softest etc biggrin.gif
Plus as my girlfriend pointed out... Its a good reason to not put wieght on tongue.gif

Thanks for the advise SammyC!!! Probably wouldn't have even thought about it otherwise! agree.gif

No worries dude, often takes another pair of eyes to see what is obvious with 20-20 hindsight.

Time to redo the video with the new spring to compare.
