Hi all,
As the title says im getting a bit miffed with listening to "rattle, rattle rattle rattle, rattle rattle, rattle rattle rattle" ect from my gravity dropper.
Any ideas on how to stop this,, id love to just be able to get a 2012 reverb but i have got a 27.2 seat tube so im stuck with the gr range.
Any ideas welcome. agree.gif

have you taken it to bits ian ,it really is very simple to strip ,clean and lubricate. and with it being purely mechanical you should be able to see any problem......just watch out for the spring boinging out and disappearing somewhere.

Try and find a KS i7 seat post, as far as i know it's the only other post available in 27.2, i did have one fitted to the 5 but sold it months ago

Yeah Glynn, iv had it to bits for servicing a few times now. It works perfectly but its just the amount of play and the bushing thingy.
Iv thought about drilling and tapping the outer tube and using nylon grub screws in a triangular format to try and keep the inner pole still. (if that makes sense) but didnt want jeopardize the strength of the outer tube (if it would) or "cock it up".
Its only noisey when im not sat on it of course but it drives me mad. hairout.gif

Ill check them out Dan, but the Ks ones iv seen are in 30.9 smallest...

how about emailing gravity dropper for suggestions?
i'd imagine that there support would be pretty good being a u.s. company
they might be able to send you some spares

Some nice thick grease keeps mine quiet.

Iv just ordered bushes and shims for both gravity droppers and a complete new saddle clamp assembly for Jo's bodged one.
Direct from GD. £43 shipped. Bargain agree.gif
Gareth
That's what I was going to say, all parts for the Gravity Dropper can be ordered and also are surprisingly cheap. cool.gif

Mmmm, I'd stick with the GD. I've had a couple of KS fail on me, and trust me stripping down a KS seat post isn't as easy as the GD and the results can be catastrophic. GD maybe clunky but it works. Edit: and I see you've ordered spares. agree.gif

I realised this week that every one of my riding group have bought an adjustable seatpost. When I turned up with my GD nearly 5 years ago I was met with universal p*ss taking. Oh how the mighty are fallen. Trouble is I've now lost my advantage through the unexpected steep & technical stuff rolleyes.gif
