Full Version: shock bushes
MTB Britain > Mountain Biking > Technical Queries
old dude
there,s been a few queries as regarding shock bushes lately,
once riders fathom out that new ones are required, they can just then get on with replacing,
it is a bit puzzling at first, especially for new riders who don't know what to expect as regards longevity etc,
and whats normal wear and play limits of the bushes,
anyway, back to my bodge,
when there is play in the bushes, and you are a bit stuck for cash or you don't want to miss a ride, waiting for new bushes,
what i do is, wrap plumber,s PTFE tape around the worn bush,
i,ve had several rides from one bodge job!!
you can always carry the tape with you on a ride, as you are putting the frame at risk when there is a bit of play in the bushes,
i.e cracked mounting lugs, ovalised bolt holes,
